Chicken fried rice is an absolute classic! Many people complain that it is too difficult to make, or that it takes too much time. My basic variation of chicken fried rice isn’t tough at all! It’s one of my favorites. So, here’s a quick recipe that only takes about 20 minutes to make, I use it whenever I’m in a pinch!

You’ll need:

A small package of chicken tenderloins

Olive or Canola Oil

Garlic Salt

1 Minced Onion

3 Cups Cooked Instant Rice

1 Can of Sweet Peas

(Optional) Soy Sauce

(Optional) 2 Scrambled Eggs

The recipe is pretty simple to prepare:

1.) Start by grabbing a large deep-dish frying pan. Pour a bit of oil into the pan until you’ve got a nice thin layer of it. You should start cooking your instant rice right now as well.

2.) Put the pan on the stove with medium heat. Wait a good five minutes before CAREFULLY placing the chicken in it. Nice, hot oil is always a good start. If you have a Cuckoo CRP-CHSS1009FN then you can skip the following steps.

3.) Wait for the chicken to cook through completely, look for nicely browned edges. At this point, your rice should be done as well. Drain any extra water in your rice, and then very carefully add the rice to the pan, leaving the dial on medium heat. At this point, start adding your spices and onions. Be sure to move the food around in the pan often! Rice will burn easily. If you’ve lost all the oil at this point, add just a bit more to prevent food burning. Start making your eggs at this point, if you’d like them

4.) Wait for the rice to brown up a bit. If you want to add soy sauce to the dish, add a splash right about now, and same goes for the eggs! Add peas at this point as well. Let the oil cook out so that the rice gets nice and crispy.

This recipe might take some practice. It’s one of those things where the more you make it, the better it gets each time, until it becomes on of those great family classics. (Add it to the list!) Making chicken fried rice takes a lot of attention, but it is well worth it and can be done in a very small time frame. If you’re looking for something a bit more exciting for dinner, this can be a great choice! The next time you need a quick meal, don’t be afraid to give this recipe a shot!
